can see in these photos some of the progression McAllister goes
through. On the first book cover he will be portrayed in a group
of California volunteers in uniform.

- Then, of course, he reverts to the his more natural state,
and the McAllister that we got to know in Death of an Eagle,
minus the long hair. I grew my hair out specifically for this
book series, as we will use photos instead of paintings.

- McAllister will be clean-shaven for the second and third
books, maybe more. As time passes, he grows a mustache, and eventually
he graduates back to more "mountain man" style clothing.
Finally, you will see him with shorter hair, mustache and the
Western clothing he wore in Death of an Eagle. This is an ambitious
series, but one that I hope I can start putting out in print
soon.
